IMVUGO CENTRE dispenses Language Lessons of Ikinyarwanda through Individual Classes, through Group Classes or through Online Classes which are conducted at a regular pace or an intensive pace.

At a regular pace, Lessons of Ikinyarwanda are taught to learners in weekly sessions totalling 4 hours per week.
At an intensive pace, Lessons of Ikinyarwanda are taught to learners in weekly sessions totalling 25 hours per week.
Online Live Group/Individual Courses and Online correspondence Course are taught in weekly sessions totalling 4 hours per week.

 

REGULAR INDIVIDUAL COURSE OF IKINYARWANDA

Regular Individual Course allows learners to study Ikinyarwanda in a one-on-one class with their teacher, at a regular pace of 4 hours per week and at flexible schedules. Here a learner is able to learn with their preferred learning style. 

Enrolment, Starting

A learner enrols and starts in a regular individual course whenever ready to start.

Location for Classes

Imvugo Centre Office or any other preferred locations suggested by the learner and approved by Imvugo Centre are used to host Classes in a regular individual course.

Practice, cultural or immersion activities are also organized in locations countrywide.

Number of Lessons

There are 35 Lessons (a Sub-Level) in any regular course of Ikinyarwanda.

Pace of Learning

2 weekly sessions, of 2 hours each, are used to teach 4 lessons every week.

A learner is also able to suggest his own weekly schedule based on that basic pace.

Weekly Schedules

The lessons are taught between Mondays and Fridays and exceptionally on Saturdays.

A learner is able to suggest their own schedules based on the basic pace of learning.

Evaluations

Review Lessons are done after every 5 lessons.

Evaluations are done after every 10 lessons.

Duration of course

An Individual Course completes 35 lessons (Sub-Level) after 9 weeks of learning.

Costs and Payment

An individual learner pays a rate of 12,000Rwf (14US$) per hour per lesson for each of the 35 hours/lessons in a Regular Individual course.

Regular Group Course allows learners to study Ikinyarwanda in engaging group classes with their teacher, at a regular pace of 4 hours per week and at a convenient weekly schedule of 2 sessions per week. Here comfort and steady progress for each learner are priority.

In-takes are received and organized every 3 months
Each group in-take needs a minimum of 3 learners to start classes. 
Each group in-take can accommodate a maximum of 12 learners.

Location for Classes

Imvugo Centre Office or any other preferred locations organized by Imvugo Centre are used to host Classes in a regular Group course.

Practice, cultural or immersion activities are also organized in locations countrywide.

An Intensive Individual Course is the preferred course format for any individual learner who aim to achieve rapid progress in Ikinyarwanda in a very short period of time. In this format, a learner studies at a pace of 25 hours per week and at convenient weekly schedules.
Such learners may be members of the Rwanda Diaspora, international study-abroad learners or other learners who travel to Rwanda to improve their skills in Ikinyarwanda for the purposes of family, studies, socio-cultural exchanges, research, temporally or permanent work, Etc.

An Online Course allows an effective study of Ikinyarwanda, remotely, gradually and at convenient weekly schedules. 
The Online Course is the preferred course format for for learners who aim to achieve a gradual progress in Ikinyarwanda, at a regular pace of 4 hours per week ; such learners may be planning to travel to Rwanda later and they generally are members of the Rwanda Diaspora, international study-abroad students or other learners who travel to Rwanda to improve their skills in Ikinyarwanda language for the purposes of family, studies, socio-cultural exchanges, research, temporally or permanent work, Etc.

Individual Online learner starts an online course whenever they’re ready to start.

An Online Group class needs a minimum of 1 learner to start online classes. 
An Online Group class may start with only one learner, with other learners joining later.
Each online group class can accommodate a maximum of 6 learners simultaneously.

An Online Correspondence class starts whenever the learner(s) is ready to start.

Platforms for Classes

Imvugo Centre uses Emails, Skype, Whatsapp, Zoom or other Online platforms to make voice calls, video calls or send correspondence messages to the learners who learn online through these same platforms.
